ABOUT US

Our mission is to provide a comprehensive, private treatment to empower patients to live the life they love without relying on the health care system.

TORQ PT in Riverton, NJ was founded on a passion to provide a higher standard of care. Most healthcare facilities take a reactive approach, meaning once a person experiences pain, they seek their provider. What makes TORQ PT different than the rest is simply that we take a proactive approach to health, wellness, and recovery.

Whether you are a weekend warrior, competitive athlete, or just fed up with the healthcare system of today, TORQ PT can help you get the most out of your body! With a combination of manual therapies such as massage and cupping, corrective exercise, stretching, and education we help to bring our patients toward their goals.

We’re conveniently located within Riverton Health & Fitness Center, which allows us to provide more independence for our patients. You’ll never be required to perform unnecessary exercises in our clinic. We only prescribe what is truly needed for your recovery. Our patients enjoy having a full commercial gym right upstairs from our office!

The best part is: you don’t have to be injured to come see us.

Meet The Team

Doctor Alex Miscannon

President, Physical Therapist NJ#: 40QA01942800

Far too often, people are rushed through a profit-centered healthcare system where care feels impersonal and outcomes fall short. TORQ Physical Therapy was founded from a passion to provide a higher standard of care — one that is intentional, hands-on, and centered around the individual, not a diagnosis or a billing code.

I graduated from Widener University with both a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, a combination that allows me to approach rehabilitation from both a physical and psychological perspective. This dual background plays a critical role in how I treat patients, particularly those dealing with chronic pain, balance disorders, and fear-based movement limitations. Pain is rarely just physical, and meaningful recovery requires addressing the whole person.

From day one, one-on-one care has been a non-negotiable value at TORQ. I am present with each patient every step of the way — during every visit and throughout their entire plan of care. Patients are never handed off, rushed, or left feeling unheard. Since its beginnings, TORQ has grown into a family-type environment, where patients feel supported, encouraged, and genuinely cared for by a team that knows them well.

My clinical approach emphasizes hands-on treatment techniques combined with education and movement retraining. In 2022, when New Jersey legislation changed, I was one of the first Physical Therapists in the state to become certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling, further expanding the tools available to help patients manage pain, restore mobility, and regain confidence in their bodies.

I specialize in working with individuals experiencing chronic pain and balance impairments, helping them break long-standing pain cycles, improve stability, and return to the activities that matter most to them. At TORQ, the goal isn’t just short-term relief — it’s empowering patients with the understanding, skills, and support they need for lasting results.

Kim Rawlings

Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant NJ#: 40QB00385900 & Personal Trainer

Kim is a graduate of Harcum College and is a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. With several sports injuries she's endured through horseback riding, softball, and crew, she has had plenty of experience on the patient-side of things. With being a patient as well as having helped coach other athletes in these sports, her experiences drove her to select a career in physical therapy in order to give the same quality of care.

While in school, she worked at a clinic as an exercise specialist but, unfortunately, was laid off due to the Covid-19 pandemic. With her drive to help people, she continued blogging to increase the access people had to understanding their aches and pains. Through losing her job, she saw the experience as a window of opportunity to continue to help people through her writings as well as the helping to build TORQ Physical Therapy with Doctor Alex. Kim has also gone above and beyond many of her cohorts by taking over 100 hours of advanced courses, including kinesiotape, cupping, movement assessment, and much more!

Outside of work, Kim enjoys going to the beach, working out, and taking her Border Collie, Lilly, on adventures!
