Stretch Therapy at TORQ is delivered by licensed clinicians in dedicated 45–50 minute sessions. You relax on the table while your therapist works through passive stretching, PNF techniques, and targeted myofascial release when indicated. It's the stretch you've been trying to reach on your own — done deeper, more precisely, and with clinical understanding of what your body actually needs.
When you stretch on your own, you're limited by what your body is willing to allow you to do — the ranges you can hold with your own strength, the positions your muscles won't pull you out of, the angles you simply can't reach alone. A trained clinician can take you further, hold you longer, and target the specific tissues that need attention.
Stretch Therapy at TORQ combines passive stretching (you relax, the clinician does the work), PNF techniques — proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, a research-backed method that dramatically improves flexibility gains — and targeted myofascial release for tissues that need it.
When appropriate, we also build a home stretching program so the gains from your session extend between visits. You get the depth of a professional session plus the tools to maintain and build on what we accomplished together.
Stretch Therapy supports a wide range of patients for a wide range of reasons. Here are the populations we see most often.
Long hours seated at a desk create predictable patterns of tightness: hips, hamstrings, chest, upper traps, neck. Areas you can't easily reach or hold on your own. A dedicated session opens what daily life keeps closing down.
Runners, lifters, weekend warriors, and anyone training regularly benefits from dedicated flexibility work integrated into their week. Better recovery, better range of motion, better durability across a training cycle.
Patients who've completed physical therapy and want to keep their gains without losing ground. Regular stretch sessions maintain the flexibility and mobility work you invested in during your treatment plan.
Patients who invest in regular hands-on wellness care as part of a broader self-care routine. Weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly sessions keep the body feeling loose, mobile, and cared for across the seasons.
Age brings predictable stiffness — hips, thoracic spine, ankles, shoulders. Professional stretching helps maintain the mobility that supports independent living — bending, reaching, walking, getting in and out of chairs.
Persistent tension in specific areas — upper traps, low back, hips, jaw — that never seems to shift with your own stretching. Professional work reaches these patterns in ways home routines often can't.
Every session at TORQ follows the same rhythm — a conversation about what your body needs, a brief physical assessment, the stretching work itself, and simple guidance for what to do between visits.
A brief conversation about what you're here for. Chronic tightness? Sports recovery? Post-PT maintenance? General wellness? Your goals shape the session.
Your clinician identifies where you're actually tight, which tissue restrictions matter most for your goals, and where to focus the session.
The 45–50 minute session itself. You relax on the table. Passive stretching, PNF techniques, and targeted myofascial release where indicated. We do the work.
When appropriate, we build a home stretching program to extend your session's benefits and target ongoing needs between visits.
Every body is different, but here's what patients most commonly experience — both immediately after a session and across a series of visits.
